Letting Go

10.15.2018 by admin // Leave a Comment

If there’s one skill that I naturally developed…

… that I always felt that I could do a great job at & always wanted to do:

Writing ad copy that produced sales on demand.

I could literally write a headline, whip out a few bullets & integrate my client’s products…

… and my clients would start generating sales from nowhere.

The last few years, however, I found myself in a prison…

… and that prison was “This is my business, and I should do EVERYTHING”.

As a result, I never delegated.

I never let go.

I kept on taking more and more work, doing it all myself…

… burning out, recovering & then doing it all myself & burning out again.

It all changed just over a year ago.

On the 15th of October 2017, a Sunday.

I was at the Lalit Ashok, Bangalore having a drink alone after an exhaustive conference.

I decided to let go…

… to give up control.

And this led me on a path…

… a path that paved the way towards building a competent & committed team.

A team that truly gets me & creates the results that we want to have.

It’s definitely not wonderland.

Troubles brew up here & there.

Communication breakdown happens…

… and there are fires that I have to put off.

But at last, I gave up control & delegated.

In retrospection, I learned that I’m a good leader.

… and this little team has freed up my time & head in ways that I could never think of.

And now, I’m writing again…

… writing powerful irresistible copy that produces results.

It’s unlocked the little creative genius within me.

… and I’m humbled & honoured to have discovered this genius.

It all came down to ONE thing:

Giving up my desire for control.

I thought I had to control everything…

… and that desire for control turned a business that I loved into one that I hated.

Sometimes, you have to let go and trust..

… and when you let go, not everything’s gonna go right.

You’re gonna fail the first time.

You’re gonna have a few bruises.

But when you stick with faith, the Universe’s gonna send the right things in your direction.

So if you’re wondering why you aren’t getting something that you want?

Maybe it’s because you’re trying to control everything.

Learn to let go today…

… and that might change your LIFE for the better.

Fortune favours the brave,

Harry Ramsay

3 Keys To Peace Of Mind

12.11.2017 by admin // Leave a Comment

Do you feel that peace of mind evades you no matter what you achieve in life?

Have you ever gone through an experience where you reach one goal, and your mind has a natural tendency to hanker for another goal?

If so, you’re not alone.

Desire after desire, goal after goal, like a donkey with a carrot dangling in front of it’s head, we are always seeking some goal or another thinking that it’ll give us peace.

… But in reality, we come to learn from experience that peace of mind does not come from achievement of these goals.

Peace of mind is a state of being…

… and it starts right now even if you have nothing.

With peace of mind as your foundation, you can build & achieve anything in life.

When you’ve learned the art of maintaining peace with yourself, you’ll find that you’ll go unruffled through insurmountable challenges.

With that said, here are 3 keys to attaining peace of mind…

1. Be Free

You are the eternal soul that is beyond birth & death. You have no wants nor no lack. You are beyond all these things, and therefore, you are never bounded. So you don’t need anything external to fulfil you. You have a fountain within yourself that will quench your thirst even in the darkest of times.

So let all your desires go. Don’t hanker after them. Selectively choose your desires that you want to pursue which are appropriate for your station in life, but don’t hanker after it like an animal. Be a human, be a hero. Go after your desires/goals strategically knowing that even if you achieve it, it is just a part of the process.

2. Accept Responsibility

The mark of a hero, and the mark of a coward is in the level of responsibility he/she accepts in himself. The hero takes complete responsibility on his shoulder, and carries forward with zeal and enthusiasm. You find that heroism in Mahatma Gandhi, Bharatiyar, George Washington & many others.

… and that’s why they’ve made history. When there is uncertainty whether in your work, in your life or in the society, whoever takes the full responsibility & tries to create a result out of that uncertainty emerges victorious.

Be determined not to curse anything on the outside. Always take responsibility because no power in this Universe can stop you from having a thing that you truly deserve. So take the full responsibility on your shoulders.

3. Be Not Discouraged

As you go through life, tremendous difficulties will appear, and they will always test you.

The mark of a hero is that he is never discouraged by setbacks. He is clear & determined about his goal, and moves forward with zeal no matter the turbulences, criticisms, and failures.

The coward takes discouragement to his heart, begins to doubt himself, his goal & starts to give up. And when you do that, death & depression seizes upon you like a tiger latching onto a prey.

Never let go, never be discouraged. Be clear about your goal, work on with the intrepidity of a lion, the tenderness of a flower and your path will open up.

How To Shoot High Quality Videos With Your Phone

09.26.2017 by admin // Leave a Comment

Hey Guys,

So a lot of people wanted to know how they can shoot high quality videos with their phone and I thought I could share the system that I figured out…

Here’s what you’ll need:
– An excellent phone that has a good selfie camera.

– A tripod that is incredibly flexible, light-weight so you can take it whereever possible and use it to shoot videos.

– A phone holder that will hook your phone to the tripod.

– A collar mic that will connect from your camera to your phone. (Some people use another phone in their pocket to capture the audio), but I don’t recommend that. It’s double-work to sync it.

1) Tripod:

AmazonBasics has an excellent tripod:
https://www.amazon.in/…/B005…/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01…

Buy the 50 inch one if this is not available. It’s okay.

2) Phone Mount:

Here’s one:
https://www.amazon.in/…/B00V…/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00…

3) Mic:

You can order extension wires later on if you want more distance.

In most cases, you won’t need it because the tripod can be positioned such a way that you really look good even with just a 3 feet distance.

I have shot several videos using this, I don’t have any selfie videos on youtube for proof.

Here’s a video that I shot using the exact same system except the phone wasn’t on selfie mode and was facing me directly:

Thanks,
Harry Ramsay

PS:

1) How To Tell If Your Video Is Really Good?

– Transfer that to the computer, and then see how it looks.

2) Which phones have the best camera?

iPhone has the best as far as I can tell. But I also think some of these android phones with selfie-cameras and the high-end ones like One Plus is also good (and Samsung).

I had an Android for a long time, but it was never good enough.

3) How to convert your videos:

– Your videos on the phone would be 1 GB – converting them would take some steps. It’s simple with a free software called Handbrake.

In another message, I’ll share how to do it.
